Street and stranger safety issues are a major concern for those of us who work in community-based settings with people whose cognitive functioning is impaired. Many health conditions have behavioral components that include the inability of individuals to distinguish between people who can be trusted in the community and people who are suspicious.

The following visual supports can be used to rehearse people with developmental disabilities about the predictability of safe interactions in community settings.
